Ship-owning is a very important part of this company's business activities, since many of our vessels are long-term time chartered out. The department carries out the important responsibilities of working with our Charterers to make sure that performance based on Charter Party is executed smoothly and accurately.

The Department is also the coordinator and leader of our projects. Without the department's continue monitoring and pushing, we would not be the first Taiwanese company to attain DOC in the ISM code nor the ISM leader in the industry. The department has 3 ongoing significant projects:

1. Continuation of computerization - we believe that an efficient working environment, whether on land or at sea, will provide us with a distinctive edge over our peers. Our office is the most modern, most computerized in the industry, with online email, information-sharing network and internet access as well as personal workstation set up for each staff. We are email-linking our vessels, providing our fleet with alternative efficient and effective way of communication. With commitment and efforts, we intend to stay ahead.

2. Refinement of company Safety Management System (SMS) – in addition to efficient ''hardware'' (i.e. modern and computerized office), we need efficient ''software'' to run the ship management activities. Based on ISM code, we are striving to further simplify the existing workflow and improve the SMS system in place.

3. Fleet expansion – the department is also responsible for the important tasks of contracting our new building as well as Sale and Purchasing (S&P) negotiation of our any second-hand-vessel. We are closely watching the market so expect us to expand our fleet and our business further in the near future.
